Cannot open html files in ie

Christopher Christopher. Sunday, March 5, AM. Chris, MS is a big company Monday, March 6, AM. Rob Thank you for replying. I am accessing the file from a TS client. Tuesday, March 7, AM. It's also missing closing tags. The result was readable. Maybe it was using About:Blank's Body close tag? No clues from Edge's Console tab but as usual that stupid Clear on navigate was on so I would have to redo my test to know if that would have been giving any errors from the parser.

Robert Aldwinckle Thursday, March 9, PM. Thank you for helping me try o find a solution. Actually, here is what I am getting. Thursday, March 16, AM. Hi, Thank you for your sharing. Thread starter zsofi Start date Dec 10, Status Not open for further replies.

If I try Open with If I browse and select Explorer from its location and click open, nothing happens. The only way to open. Any idea how to get. Or cure Explorer? Thanks, Zsofi. Do you mean explorer. Welcom to Techspot :hotbounce , BTW! Spike said:. Click to expand Repeat for both. However, if anyone can get this to work without having to do that, I am still open to ideas since launching a web app isn't really the ideal solution for me.

I'm not sure whether this'll work because of IE's many crazy exceptions and rules regarding local files and compatibility mode, but try the META tag approach. See understanding compatibility modes to make sure you pick the right one. None of the three proposed solutions has resulted in the compatibility mode icon showing in IE8.

They do for me. I'm sure they ran fine for the MVP too when he double-clicked them from his desktop a week ago.

But I don't want to put words in his mouth. He can post back here and tell us what he observed when he double-clicked them from his desktop. This thread is locked.
