Given that it in a normal business environment it is perfectly normal business practise to "hide" the SSID of a private company wifi network and, that it's also perfectly normal business practice that employees need to be able to connect to said hidden SSID network on a daily basis automatically without having to even specify the password as they will already have identified themselves to obtain access to the network the first time they connect , can you please point me to the instructions for windows 10 in order to be able to do exactly that.
If it is not possible to do this in windows 10, can you please confirm that so as to to have clear what can and can't be done with windows I use windows 10 in a business environment and my customers function as described above. If windows 10 cannot do that then I will need to use a version of windows that can do that and would be grateful if you could tell me exactly which is the latest version of windows that allows that.
I do not wish to reconfigure all my hidden networks everytime I need to connect to them and I certainly don't want to have to perform network diagnostic tasks for something that should quite simply work.
What is the purpose of removing the ability to have a hidden network SSID to reconnect automatically since it is stored and the check box is enable to "reconnect even if the SSID is hidden in Windows This wastes valuable production time. Especially for a very, very large enterprise organization. Also why is there only a "Forget" choice?
Why not have the properties feature choice also? Oh wait that is too convenient! XP, Win7, Win8 etc was engineered to do that. Why revert? Now users have to reconfigure their devices each time they boot which is frustrating and most importantly waste valuable production time.
Clicking on "Hidden Network, typing in the SSID, then typing in the key is is not a resolution and is not acceptable to the user. What is the ETA on a resolution? I've been looking for 3rd party software that can connect my network but haven't found any yet.
Bottom line Since this is a deal breaker for purchasing or not purchasing the product, it's shocking to me that there doesn't seem to be a Microsoft Fix for this. Details required : characters remaining Cancel Submit 1 person found this reply helpful.
